1. Officially Becoming a WSI Global Partner

  • In March 2018, VCOM officially became a Global Industry Partner of WSI, making it the first Chinese company to join WSI.

  • Global Industry Partners play a vital role in WSI, responsible for promoting skills development, supporting competitions, and contributing to standards development.

2. Supporting the WorldSkills Competition and Skills Standards

  • VCOM has provided critical competition equipment and technical support for the 44th, 45th, 46th, and 47th WorldSkills Competitions, covering five major skill areas: ICT Network Infrastructure (previous known as Information Network Cabling), Optoelectronic Technology, Electronics, Health and Social Care, and Electrical Installations, making it the Chinese company supporting the most competition areas.

  • The Optoelectronic Technology skill competition was successfully proposed to WSI in 2020 by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China (MOHRSS) in collaboration with VCOM Education.

  • In March 2025, VCOM introduced the Intelligent Security Technology skill competition to WSI, which will debut as a new skill area at the 2026 Shanghai WorldSkills Competition.

  • VCOM integrates WSI’s occupational skills standards into its teaching and curriculum development, promoting the implementation of WorldSkills standards in China and other countries.

3. Promoting Global Vocational Education Cooperation

  • VCOM actively participates in global vocational education cooperation and assistance programs, providing teacher training, equipment support, and collaborative school projects in countries including Barbados, Laos, Kenya, Chile, Romania, India, and New Zealand.

  • In March 2024, VCOM established the Industry College of Optoelectronic Technology in Jiangxi, China, deepening industry-education integration through school-enterprise cooperation, in line with WSI’s philosophy.

  • In 2024, VCOM signed a strategic agreement with Barbados in the Caribbean region to conduct vocational teacher training and jointly develop future training centers.
