The Second “Belt and Road” International Skills Competition in Chongqing, China

The Second Belt and Road International Skills Competition was grandly held in Chongqing, China on June 24-26, 2024, featuring 18 competition projects and attracting top-skilled talents and experts from various countries and regions worldwide. The theme of this competition is: Skills Cooperation, Joint Development. Vcom Education, as an important partner of this competition, provided advanced equipment and technical support for the Information Network Cabling and Optoelectronics Technology projects, fully showcasing the enterprises important position in the field of educational technology.

At the competitions exhibition area, Vcom Education set up its own booth to provide comprehensive information to major Chinese colleges and enterprises, as well as foreign competitors and experts. This included knowledge about the 47th WorldSkills Competition and technical project information, enhancing their awareness of skill knowledge both domestically and internationally.

At the Launch Ceremony of The Belt and Road Skills-Building-Dreams Action, Dr. Cornel Bărbut, Vice President of the Romanian Fiber Optic Association, delivered an important speech on behalf of Romania and Vcom. He stated, Romania and Vcom Education have had extensive cooperation in various fields. With the support of Vcom, the Romanian branch of Global Training Center (https://www.intskill.com) was successfully established, nurturing many skilled talents. He also emphasized that the skills competition is not only a contest of skills but also an important platform for skill cooperation and exchange between countries. Vcom has made outstanding contributions to promoting the international standardization of skills, and we look forward to more cooperation opportunities in the future, Dr. Barbut said.

Additionally, Vcom Education signed an agreement with Barbados on-site during the ceremony of the competition. The Barbados Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TEVT) Council successfully joined the Optoelectronics International Teaching Standards and Curriculum Co-development Alliance. This alliance aims to jointly develop and promote teaching standards and curricula in the field of optoelectronics technology through international cooperation, thereby enhancing the level of global optoelectronics technology education.

The successful hosting of the Second Belt and Road International Skills Competition not only showcased the latest achievements of various countries in the cultivation of skilled talents but also further promoted skills exchange and cooperation among the countries along the Belt and Road. The influence of the competition continues to expand, attracting participation from more countries and regions, and becoming an important platform for global skills exchange. Vcoms outstanding performance in this competition once again proves its strong strength and international influence in the field of vocational education and technology.
