VCOM Convenes First Review of Electronic Circuit Designer Standard

On September 6, 2025, the First Review Meeting for the China National Occupational Standard of Electronic Circuit Designer was successfully convened at the headquarters of Guangdong VCOM Education Technology Co., Ltd. in Guangzhou, China. The meeting was joined by senior officials from the China Employment Training Technical Instruction Center and the Guangdong Provincial Vocational Skills Service and Guidance Center, alongside representatives from over 20 universities and enterprises nationwide.

During the meeting, Ms. Cathy Wang, CEO of VCOM Education, emphasized that electronic circuit design, as a core link of the electronic information industry, requires a scientific, standardized, and forward-looking occupational standard. She noted that establishing such a framework is crucial to driving high-quality industrial development and enhancing talent cultivation. She further reaffirmed that VCOM Education, together with all contributing institutions, will continue to uphold the principles of “industry-led, scientifically rigorous, and practically applicable” to ensure the effective implementation of the standard.

Director Li Ke provided guidance on the preliminary review, focusing on the standard’s scientific validity, completeness, and industry relevance. He highlighted key technical considerations, including competency definitions and skill assessment methods, and clarified expectations for systematic evaluation and actionable recommendations, ensuring the draft aligns with China’s national occupational standard system.

From a regional perspective, Deputy Director Yang Fan highlighted that Guangdong’s electronic information industry is rapidly evolving with growing demand for advanced electronic devices, smart technologies, and integrated systems. He noted a shortage of skilled professionals in circuit design and related fields, emphasizing that the Electronic Circuit Designer standard is a strategic step to meet talent needs and support industry transformation.

The expert drafting committee, represented by Professor Lou Yafen and Senior Engineer Su Jingjing, presented detailed explanations on the background, structure, and technical approach of the standard. Following the reports, the meeting entered into the core review phase. Under the chairmanship of Director Zhou Ming, review experts conducted in-depth discussions on the draft, examining its scientific validity, completeness, applicability, and feasibility. The experts then provided targeted revision suggestions in line with the National Occupational Standards Compilation Guidelines and consolidated their professional review opinions.

The Electronic Circuit Designer National Occupational Standard represents an important addition to the electronic information sector. It is designed to advance industrial development, set benchmarks for talent training, and standardize professional evaluation.
