Delegation from the PanPacific University, Philippines Visits VCOM for Exchange

On December 18, 2024, a delegation of faculty and students from the Engineering Computing Academy of Science and Technology (ECOAST) of the PanPacific University, Philippines visited VCOM to kick off an international, digital, and intelligent skills observation and exchange tour, exploring new opportunities for international talent development.

Upon arrival, the delegation first observed the Training Center/China Vocational Skills Level Examination/Certification Center. As an authorized examination venue by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the center is dedicated to improving the skill level certification system and the construction of skill assessment bases. It has established strict training plans, developed a comprehensive curriculum system, and created professional courses. The center has already obtained vocational skill level certification qualifications for positions such as Integrated Cabling Technicians, Broadband Access Technicians, Information Communication Network Installers, Communication Network Cable Technicians, and Lighting Designers, covering three levels: 5, 4, and 3.

Next, the delegation visited the Vcom Education Training Center to exchange and observe technological achievements in various fields such as information network cabling, optoelectronic technology, and health and social care. They experienced first-hand the skill training models empowered by technology and highly praised our professionalism and practicality in skill training.

In the subsequent seminar, both sides engaged in in-depth and fruitful discussions on topics such as talent cultivation, the integration of industry and education, and international cooperation. Jennifer Huang, Secretary-General of Global Training Center, warmly welcomed the delegation and introduced the development history of Global Training Center, its online and offline skill training model, abundant online course resources, extensive international cooperation network, and branch center developments. She emphasized that Global Training Center adheres to an open, inclusive, and win-win philosophy and is willing to collaborate deeply with universities and institutions worldwide to jointly promote the development of skilled talent.

During the discussion, the faculty and students from the University briefly introduced the university’s professional skill setting and talent development efforts and expressed a strong desire to cooperate with Vcom’s training center in related fields. Both parties agreed that through strengthening communication and cooperation, they would work together to enhance the quality and level of skilled talent cultivation.

This visit and exchange activity has opened new doors for future in-depth collaboration between the two parties. Vcom Education will continue to uphold an international perspective and spirit of technological innovation, deepening industry-education integration and driving the digital transformation and high-quality development of vocational education, contributing to the global skills development. With joint efforts, the educational and skills training exchange and cooperation between China and the Philippines will yield even greater results in the future.

Through face-to-face interactions, the Filipino faculty and students gained a deeper insight into China’s vocational education system and development model, while Vcom Education also recognized the specific needs and characteristics of the Philippines in technology education. This mutual cultural and educational exchange helps break down cultural barriers, enhance mutual trust, and lays a solid foundation for further cross-border cooperation in the future.
