Release time:2026-01-07

On October 9, 2025, Dr. Takuo Kikuchi, a renowned Japanese expert in vocational education and the Skill Competition Manager of ICT Network Infrastructure (Information Network Cabling) in WorldSkills Competition, was officially appointed as Strategic Development Consultant of the Global Training Center (GTC).

For VCOM, this appointment is not only a moment worth celebrating, but also the continuation and elevation of a long-term cooperative relationship.

As early as 2018, VCOM established a close collaboration with Professor Kikuchi in the field of Information Network Cabling. At that time, VCOM appointed Dr. Kikuchi as our Technical Consultant. As the initiator of the Information Network Cabling in WorldSkills Competition, a Skill Competition Manager for INC, a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and an expert of the Practical Education and Training Research Association, Dr. Kikuchi has long been involved in the research and promotion of standards for the Information Network Cabling skill. For many years, he has focused on advancing the practical application of vocational competency assessment benchmarks and researching industry-specific occupational development support models. He has had a profound influence on the standardization of global vocational education and the construction of international skills systems. With his solid academic foundation and international perspective, Dr. Kikuchi has continuously provided valuable guidance to VCOM Education in technical exchange, teaching improvement, and the international development of vocational education.

Over the past several years, VCOM and Dr. Kikuchi have jointly witnessed the rapid development of the WorldSkills movement. From initial technical exchanges at the skill competition level to today’s international strategic cooperation, the partnership between the two sides has expanded from the “competition level” to the “global vocational education ecosystem” level.

Dr. Kikuchi’s appointment as Strategic Development Consultant of the Global Training Center marks a new stage in his efforts to promote the development of international vocational education systems. It also represents an important action by both parties in advancing United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.” In the future, under the guidance of Dr. Takuo Kikuchi and an international team of experts, VCOM will deepen the integration and innovative application of digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and virtual simulation in the field of vocational education, jointly building a new global vocational education platform that integrates intelligent training, competency assessment, and international certification. Driven by technology and guided by standards, this platform will create an intelligent learning ecosystem connecting learning, practice, assessment, and certification, supporting the high-quality development of vocational education and international integration.

VCOM firmly believes that the value of education lies not only in the transmission of knowledge, but also in empowering the future. With a global perspective and in response to industrial transformation, VCOM will work hand in hand with international experts to promote the digital transformation and global sharing of skills education, enabling more young people to change their lives through skills and create value through technology, illuminating education with technology and connecting the world through skills.
