“The International Invitational of Optoelectronic Technical Skills 2019” successfully ended in Chongqing College of Electronic Engineering

On December 13-15,2019, with the consent of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China and under the guidance and support of the WorldSkills Internation, the "The International Invitational of Optoelectronic Technical Skills”was successfully held in Chongqing College of Electronic Engineering. This event was hosted by Chongqing Human Resources and Social Security Bureau,undertaken by Chongqing College of Electronic Engineering and The Belt and Road International Skills Research Institute, co-organized by Guangdong Vcom Education Technology Co., Ltd.. 12 teams from 9 countries including China, Russia, Mexico, Thailand, Pakistan, Germany, South Africa, Ghana and Bangladesh participated in the competition.
The international invitational for newly proposed skills “optoelectronic technology”to WorldSkills has attracted
the attention of professional and technical talents in optoelectronic industry from the beginning of the organizing. This competition built an international friendly "exchange platform" and open a "hero to hero" competition in the field of optoelectronic technology.
As the only technical support unit of the invitational, Vcom is also the applicant of the "optoelectronic technology" project. Vcom is committed to the development and expansion of the WorldSkills in China, so that more people can understand and participate in the WorldSkills competition, and more professional skills can be valued.
Opening ceremony
The opening ceremony was held in Chongqing College of Electronic Engineering on Dec 14, 2019. The guests who were invited at the opening ceremony were: Stefan Praschl, WSI Vice President for Competitions and Chair of the Competitions Committee, administrative representative of WorldSkills China; Yulin Lv, deputy director, department of international cooperation, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security;
The event kicked off under the chairmanship of Xin Xie, deputy director of Chongqing Human Resources and Social Security Bureau. Xin Xie said in his speech：“Holding the International Invitation Competition of optoelectronic technology is to adapt to the development trend of the global optoelectronic industry and meet the demand of this industry for talents. It plays a positive role in improving the skill level of employees in the industry, promoting their employment and entrepreneurship, and even promoting economic and social development.”
Stefan Praschl, WSI Vice President for Competitions and Chair of the Competitions Committee said:”The International Invitational of Optoelectronic Technical Skills is a very meaningful competition, which not only enhances the international exchange among countries, but also improves the competition level of the professional skills. Chongqing College of Electronic Engineering is a very powerful school. I like the campus environment of this school very much. It has very distinctive talent training mode and school facilities."
Xinchang Liu, Vice Observer, Division of Vocational Capacity Building, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China, said in his speech that he hoped to promote the growth of skilled talents in the field of optoelectronic technology through this International Invitational Competition, so that more young people from other countries can pay attention to and participate in the optoelectronic industry, advocate the concept of energy conservation and environmental protection around the world, and promote the healthy development of the optoelectronic industry.
Aterwards, the representatives of competitors and judges solemnly swear on the stage. Fang Yuan, Deputy director of China employment guidance and training center and Qinquan Deng, Chongqing Municipal Committee of Education and Deputy director of Municipal Education Commission, presented souvenirs to competition teams from all over the world. Yulin Lv, Vice director of Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security announced the opening of the competition.
During competition
According to the responsible of the Organizing Committee of the WorldSkills competition, the competition would take two days and have five modules: manufacturing of an optoelectronic application terminal, LED RGB screen assembly and information processing, production and debugging of LED lighting products, assembly and debugging of intelligent lighting control system, Installation, implementation and commissioning of lighting engineering, etc. Competitors should complete the skills challenge of these five modules in turn within the specified time.
Liang Chen, director of Electronics and IOT Division, Chongqing College of Electronic Engineering, as the project development partner of the new application optoelectronic technology, introduced the project:”The biggest highlight of the optoelectronic technology project is that all the modules will examine the optoelectronic products made by the competitors or the parameters of the photoelectric application system installed and adjusted from the perspective of energy conservation, environmental protection and intelligence. "
Closing ceremony
After two days of fierce competition, referee Yuxi Zhou declared the result of the competition at the closing ceremony: The Chinese team won the gold medal; Germany and Thailand won silver and bronze medals respectively. Mexico, Russia, Pakistan, Ghana, South Africa and Bangladesh have also achieved good results in this competition, showing their talent on optoelectronic skills. So far, the "The International Invitational of Optoelectronic Technical Skills" has come to a successful end.

Through the competition, we will attract young people around the world to pay more attention to the energy-saving optoelectronic industry, improve the skill level of professional and technical talents and promote the rapid development of various modules in this industry. "
